This role is a hybrid position

Some roles require an office while others may be done remotely. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in-office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Seattle or Boston office.

The Manager, Operations Finance is a critical member of the Sonos Operations Finance organization, supporting more than 30 cross-functional partners who collectively manage ~$1B in annual COGS. As a trusted advisor to the global operations organization, this role is responsible for delivering core financial processes—including forecasting, variance analysis, and quarterly earnings support—while also providing strategic decision support across manufacturing, logistics, trade compliance, engineering, and accounting.

This leader will oversee key components of the company’s cost structure, drive cross-functional financial alignment, and advance financial systems and tools that enable efficiency, transparency, and margin improvement. Success in this role requires strong financial acumen, deep understanding of supply chain and cost accounting, and the ability to communicate and influence across global teams. The position reports to the Director, Operations Finance.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee key COGS elements - including outbound logistics, tariffs, royalties, depreciation and amortization, and manufacturing period costs - ensuring these components are accurately modeled, forecasted, and reflected in financial results.

  • Partner with Inventory Accounting to shape and operationalize cost recognition policies. Drive alignment on accounting methodologies to ensure GAAP compliance, accurate reporting, and strong financial controls.

  • Coordinate with global operations, product, and supply chain teams to set, review, and update standard costs in alignment with key business milestones such as new product introductions, supplier transitions, or cost reduction initiatives. Lead and support cost review forums and standard cost updates.

  • Lead and contribute to cross-functional initiatives focused on improving standard costing processes, tools, data quality, and system effectiveness across global operations and finance.

  • Oversee and perform ROI analysis for sustaining product investments and major supply chain initiatives - including both COGS impacts and capital expenditures (e.g., capacity expansions, consolidations, design, or supplier changes). Provide actionable, decision-ready financial insights.

  • Support month-end and quarter-end close activities by performing variance analyses (actual vs. forecast, QoQ, YoY) across COGS accounts. Identify key drivers, synthesize business context, and support accurate financial reporting and leadership communication.

  • Develop deep expertise in finished goods flow and planning processes, leveraging supply plans, DC receipts, demand forecasts, and routing assumptions to strengthen financial modeling and operational analysis.

  • Leverage technology to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency, driving enhancements in Anaplan, Tableau, SAP/AO, and other finance systems in partnership with Operations Finance and Tech teams.

  • Serve as a strategic finance partner for business cases, deal summaries, and contract negotiations. Review agreements for policy compliance, quantify financial exposure, assess risks and benefits, and develop clear recommendations for business leaders.

What You’ll Need

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Data/Analytics OR a bachelor’s degree in the same fields with 8-11 years of progressive, relevant experience in finance/FP&A.

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in FP&A, Operations Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Inventory Accounting, or related analytical roles, preferably within a multinational consumer products, technology, or manufacturing environment.

  • At least 4 years of experience supporting supply chain or global operations functions, with demonstrated expertise in areas such as logistics cost modeling, inventory flows, BOM costing, or standard cost cycles.

  • Deep understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, gross margin drivers, standard costing, and the interaction between the P&L, balance sheet, and inventory valuation.

  • Proven track record partnering with cross-functional business leaders (e.g., sourcing, supply chain, logistics, product creation, accounting), influencing decisions, and managing budgets or cost structures at scale.

  • High proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to synthesize large, complex datasets, identify trends, and extract insights that inform strategic decision-making.

  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including building scenario models, cost models, forecasting tools, and operational analytics.

  • Experience improving financial processes and systems, with a continuous improvement mindset and strong attention to detail.

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise financial tools, including:

    • Anaplan or similar forecasting/planning platforms.

    • ERP systems such as SAP (S/4HANA preferred), especially in costing and inventory modules.

    • Data visualization tools such as Tableau, SAP Analytics Cloud, or MicroStrategy.

    • SAP AO / Analysis for Office (preferred).

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, including presenting complex analyses to senior stakeholders, shaping cross-functional alignment, and influencing outcomes without authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate with global partners across varying levels of financial literacy, driving alignment around complex financial topics.

  • Exceptionally self-driven and resourceful, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, rapidly learn new domains, and deliver high-quality outcomes independently.

  • Strong prioritization and execution discipline, managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high ownership and accountability.

  • Brings high energy, strategic creativity, and an entrepreneurial mindset - proactively identifying opportunities, challenging assumptions, and driving continuous improvement.

  • Deeply collaborative and solutions-oriented, building strong cross-functional relationships and balancing trade-offs to achieve enterprise-level outcomes.
