$50.05 - $75.10Major Responsibilities: Operations 1)Responsible for management and coordination of programs and therapy areas within the Out Patient Oncology service lines. These areas includes but are not limited to (Infusion, Navigation, Survivorship, Genetics, MDOC, Financial Navigation, Dietitian). Work collaboratively with management of access services and pharmacy. • Design and organize the path of patients within the system, therefore assuring timely patient care. • Develop and monitor systems for obtaining information critical to effective patient care. • Implement, develop and maintain automated system for registration and insurance verification 2)Assure established processes are managed properly. 3)Participate in short and long term planning relating to Out Patient Oncology services. • This includes needs assessments and coordination of capital requests. 4)Maintain current knowledge base necessary for managing computer systems, billing practices, insurance coverage, federal and state laws, nursing assessments, and treatment schedules 5)Establish and maintain appropriate staffing levels 6)Monitor patient care – assure that patient satisfaction is maintained and implement improvement plans accordingly 7)Develop and implement policies and procedures for Out Patient Oncology to assure effective and efficient operation of various departments 8)Ensure compliance with all regulatory governing bodies. Active engagement and leadership with the Commission on Cancer. 9)Maintain constructive, collaborative working relationships with the ACS, Gilda's Club and other outside organizations. Develop and implement support services and groups 10)Assure educational materials are offered to all oncology and breast health patients Human Resource Administration 1)Handle routine human resource processes such as job posting, interviewing, hiring status changes, payroll and payroll corrections, leave of absences, etc. 2)Knowledgeable about basic benefit issues and answers basic benefit questions 3)Conduct regular staff meetings and facilitates and subcommittee meetings 4)Evaluate and conducts performance reviews for staff in a timely manner 5)Coordinate recruitment activities on an as needed basis and promotes retention activities 6)Assesses educational needs of the staff and facilitates educational activities 7)Ensure adequate staff orientation 8)Implement and coordinate disciplinary procedures 9)Monitor staff performance levels and facilitate performance improvement activities Preparation and Administration of Budgets 1)Assure that all aspects of operating expenses are within budget 2)Partner with the Director of Cancer Institute and purchasing to ensure that all capital expenditures are correctly processed though the Advocate system 3)Plan and administer an annual budget and monitor expenditures; report and justify variances on an ongoing basis 4)Assure efficient utilization of staff, supplies and equipment 5)Audit inventory levels and costs of supplies maintained in each area 6)Responsible for working with Finance and Business Manager to ensure charge master, RVU and billing are accurate. 7)Consult with the director of imaging services to plan and develop ancillary programs and assist with feasibility studies 8)Participate in Capital expenditure projects 9)Stay abreast of insurance and benefit changes 10)Assure appropriate coding is utilized for billing practices Collaboration with Peers and Executive Relationship Building 1)Monitor physician use of Out Patient Oncology areas and identifies opportunities for improvement Customer Relations 1)Consult with physicians, management and other health care professionals to assure delivery of quality care, patent satisfaction and utilization of area health services. 2)Develop and implement customer service programs to meet the needs of varying customers including patients staff physicians and community 3)Actively participate in committees and projects 4)Coordinate hospital activities to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining cost effectiveness Growth and Development 1)Keep abreast of current standards of care via literature, educational events international and external resources and internal/external networking 2)Maintain memberships in professional and community organizations 3)Participate in activities to enhance professional growth by involvement in professional organizations and continuing education 4)Participate in Advocate system wide Councils 5)Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with Medical Directors and other physicians. Facilities 1)Ensure efficient maintenance of hospital facilities and equipment 2)Responsible for safe operations of Out Patient Oncology equipment 3)Attend Environment of Care Committee and ensures that all established policies and procedures concerning environment of care are adhered to. This includes Disaster Plans, Hazardous Communication, and equipment and utility management Regulatory Compliance 1)Attend all hospital meetings to keep aligned with all regulatory body regulations 2)Collaborate with various agencies to assure that all departments provide patient care according to guidelines 3)Assure that all staff maintain appropriate CEUs and licensure Operations 1)Facilitate vendor demonstrations and coordinate theses with Advocate Business Conduct Guidelines 2)Conduct special projects and studies related to CoC Programmatic goals and studies 3)Thoroughly knowledgeable of patient flow through all patient facilities 4)In collaboration with the Director of the Cancer Institute develop a process by which the Cancer Institute can meet Survivorship Care Plan targets as established by the CoC. 5)Working with the Director develop quantifiable metrics for tracking productivity of Nurse Navigators. Education/Experience Required: Bachelors degree in relevant field is required. 3-5 plus years Supervisory or Management experience Oncology experience required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Organizational, planning and delegation skills • Team building, leadership and communication skills. • Ability to succeed in a changing environment and handle multiple responsibilities. • Strong drive to achieve superior results • Quality improvement expertise. • Team leadership skills.
