Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning, the Manager of Volume and Revenue Analytics manages all financial reporting and budgeting for hospital volume and gross charges, and collaborates with the BMC Reimbursement team to analyze trends in net revenue driven by changes in volume and/or services. This role plays a key role in the orchestration of the annual budget, monthly reporting, and supports hospital department managers to ensure our short-term and long-term planning aligns with business strategies and forecasts. This role creates and presents comprehensive and complex financial models that flex with volume, which includes projections, standard reports, and presentations. The Manager also serves as key oversight on volume, EPIC charge routing and gross charge optimization that may impact reimbursement and/or other Finance systems, such as Strata Management Reporting and Laborlytics (labor productivity).

- Oversee volume statistical reports provided to executive and senior management and external stakeholders on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Assist in creation of annual hospital volume and charge budgets, including organization of various department contributions and needed statistics by cost center and/or volume driver.
- Investigate and explain variances from budget (rate, mix, volume) for weekly and monthly reports
- Incorporate statistical and volume data into revenue modeling, profit and loss statements, and business planning
- Support quarterly or monthly forecasts as needed, including production of ad hoc targets for volume based on forecasts
- Maintain integrity of volume and revenue reporting within comprehensive financial reporting tools for use by Finance and senior management group, such as Management Reporting.
- Create standard operating procedures and/or data manuals to ensure consistency in reporting and assist with training of new team members.
- Serve as a key liaison with operations to understand operational challenges and changes to offer mitigation support and communication with key stakeholders that may be impacted.
- Work with operations to optimize resource utilization within the hospital, such as exam or procedure room utilization, that may drive strategic decisions and growth planning.
- Create detailed volume and revenue forecasts for programs or new initiatives, including understanding impact to current operational budgets and new hires.
- Conduct market research and financial analysis that impact business plans and strategies, including scenario modeling, assessment of risk, and potential financial return when appropriate.
- Contribute to executive level presentations of analytic results, including summarizing key observations based on interpretation of volume and financial data for cross-functional stakeholders
- Contribute ideas to improvement opportunities supported by data models and strategies consistent with current market trends
- Conduct ad hoc analysis as directed by senior finance management, including process improvement and optimization
- Handle large sets of data through Excel, Access and SQL.
- Partner with ITS to ensure data integrity, including quality control of all volume metrics and budgets Analyze current and historical volume and charge trends for hospital services
- Keep abreast of healthcare trends, as context for analyses and planning
Bachelor’s Degree required in a finance or related field (work experience may substitute for finance or management specific degree). MBA Or MPH Preferred.
- Five years or more experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or management consulting, preferably in a healthcare or biotechnology environment.
- Management experience, preferably in a remote or corporate environment, valued.
- Experience with finance, accounting or analytics projects required. Knowledge of hospital service lines and delivery systems is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated background working with business intelligence platform, large sets of data in SQL or other programming language.
- Advanced MS Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint skills. Competence in SQL preferred.
- Understanding of budget and/or reporting of financial data preferred.
- Ability to balance multiple projects at one time.
- Ability to conduct detailed analysis, as well as distill relevant findings for presentation to high-level audience.
- Superior analytic and problem-solving skills with a high value in data integrity and analytic accuracy.
- Approach to work that balances big picture with appropriate level of analytical detail to create impactful deliverables in a timely manner.

Compensation Range:
$78,000.00- $113,000.00
