Northrop Grumman is seeking a Payroll, Accounting Manager 2 for our Irving, Texas location. This role will require candidates to work in our Irving office.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead payroll accounting activities for all business units across multiple legal entities.
  • Ensure all payroll-related journal entries are accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts, including accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, and tax remittances
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and audit requirements for payroll accounting and reporting.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices to reduce risk, increase efficiency, and enhance accuracy.
  • Lead a team of payroll accountants and analysts, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Deliver regular and ad hoc payroll reports and analytics for executive leadership.
  • Drive data integrity initiatives, ensuring payroll records are accurate and audit-ready.

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft office suite (excel, word, and PowerPoint)
  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting in large complex organizations
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, payroll taxes, regulatory compliance, and accounting principles
  • Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Experienced leading process improvement, automation, and digital transformation initiatives
  • Well developed organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high volume, and highly regulated environment.
  • Certified Payroll Professional Certification (CPP) [2 year completion requirement]

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Workday and/or PeopleSoft
  • Basic Payroll SAP
  • Basic Service Now case management experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $127,100.00 - $190,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
