Primary Job Function:
· Drive therapy area strategy and build a future-ready pipeline through partnerships, LCM, and niche development initiatives.
· Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new product opportunities using deep market insights and competitive intelligence.
Shape strategic investment decisions by developing high-quality pitchbooks, opportunity assessments, and strategic rationale documents.
Core Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct therapy area analysis, gap assessment, and long-range pipeline planning.
• Scout markets for emerging trends, competitive moves, and innovative assets aligned with strategic priorities.
• Develop compelling pitchbooks summarizing opportunity potential, value drivers, and partnership fit.
• Perform preliminary evaluations of potential partners/assets across scientific, clinical, commercial, and operational dimensions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (L&A, Finance, Regulatory, Legal, BU teams) to support due diligence and partnership shaping.
• Deliver strategic insights, scenario plans, and valuation inputs to guide leadership decision-making.
Maintain updated pipeline tracking, competitive intelligence, and strategic reports.
Position Accountability/Scope:
· Provides independent analysis, opportunity prioritization, and evidence-based strategic recommendations.
· Shapes leadership decisions through strategic insights but does not make final investment or partnership decisions.
· Manages external engagement with partners, consultants, innovators, bankers, and ecosystem partners for opportunity identification.
· Ensures quality and accuracy of all strategic assessments, pitchbooks, and pipeline reports.
Influences cross-functional teams by aligning on strategic direction, partnership rationale, and opportunity evaluation.
Minimum Education:
· Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Medicine, or related field; OR
· Professional qualification such as CA for candidates from investment banking/financial evaluation backgrounds.
· MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
Minimum Experience/Training Required:
· 5–7 years of experience in pharmaceutical strategy, new product evaluation, portfolio analysis, or therapy area insights.
· Candidates from consulting or investment banking with healthcare exposure and strong analytical/financial evaluation skills are also suitable.
Demonstrated ability to assess opportunities, build strategic pitchbooks, and collaborate cross‑functionally.
