Manager, Institutional client portfolio management

As Manager, Institutional Client Portfolio Management, you help serve, develop and maintain business relationships with mass-affluent members and clients.  The institutional team is responsible for prestigious Desjardins members who have complex and strategic financing needs. Financing can be provided through bilateral, club deal or syndicated loans. You are responsible for financial reviews, monitoring commitments and Desjardins's internal relationships with this client segment, among other things. You analyze highly complex financing files, including calls for tender. You work closely with the assigned account managers to prepare recommendations, describing the financing and follow-up conditions and the guarantees required, with a focus on sound and prudent risk management. You drive results by actively helping your unit meet its business development objectives. More specifically, you will be required to

  • Oversee internal relationships (partners)

  • Manage the portfolio, which means keeping the portfolio up to date in terms of annual financial reviews

  • Identify and analyze member/client needs, develop personalized solutions, and prepare integrated service offers that balance member/client satisfaction, profitability and risk

  • Analyze requests, and model and analyze financial results and projections to make recommendations to Desjardins decision-making levels (credit)

  • Support account managers and analysts

  • Train analysts

  • Monitor the industry

What you bring to the table  

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field  

  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered  

  • Knowledge of French is required

  • Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
