What is the Opportunity?

The Manager, Innovation Operations works in RBC’s enterprise Innovation team’s delivery function within Technology & Operations.  This team is responsible for taking emerging technologies from discovery to scaled, secure, production-grade capabilities.  This role works closely with all Innovation team roles, spanning delivery, engineering, and strategy functions.  The manager ensures the Innovation team operates efficiently by taking a hands-on and proactive approach to managing Innovation’s technology assets and remediating risks, while also owning team documentation repository and ensuring its accuracy and currency.

What will you do?

  • Operate as the custodian/owner for Innovation assets and applications
  • Identify areas for improvement and implementing best practices, enterprise standards, and procedures to simplify and enhance operations
  • Manage both technology and non-tech risks associated with Innovation’s assets
  • Drive technology infrastructure currency - rotating certs, keys, vault mgmt., pod updates etc.
  • Recommend solutions and remediate recurring errors, risks, and vulnerabilities, and act as a referral point for pilot and PoC applications in the Innovation portfolio
  • Develop and maintain documents for IT applications and system specifications, according to existing enterprise standards and methodologies for requirements planning, analysis and documentation.
  • Manage day-to-day operations including Innovation project intake process, group mailbox triage and other day-to-day requests
  • Ensure skills and knowledge related to Innovation products, processes, procedures and are kept up to date in collaboration tools (SharePoint, Confluence)

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • Ability to collaborate with engineering to produce technical and product documentation
  • Problem solving, processing knowledge, attention to detail with a developed sense of urgency
  • Execute and develop technical workflows for infrastructure management
  • Ability to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to design solutions
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to learn new things

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with agile software development lifecycles
  • Experience with automation tools, scripting, and AI enabled workflows
  • Familiarity with any of computer science, engineering, architecture disciplines
  • Knowledge of current emerging technology trends in finance, quantum computing, DLT, Agentic AI, open-banking
