Plan and oversee inspection of all incoming materials — castings, forgings, fasteners, bearings, seals, motors, and electrical/mechanical components
Develop inspection standards, strengthen sampling plans, and acceptance criteria for different categories of incoming materials.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability for all incoming inspection activities
Evaluate and approve suppliers in coordination with Purchase with thorough assessment.
Conduct supplier audits and upgrade supplier on quality requirements.
Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives using tools such as 8D, CAPA, PPAP, and APQP. shall train supplier to new manufacturing technologies.
Monitor supplier performance through metrics like PPM, Rejection Rate, shall be committed to continuous improvement in defect trends and improvement in OTD
Identify recurring issues and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce rejection and rework.
Support New Product Development (NPD) by verifying supplier part quality during initial sample inspection (FAI / PPAP).
Skill -
Strong knowledge of GD&T, Material Standards IS/ISO/DIN , and Machining Processes
Hands-on experience in dealing with foundry, machining and strong continuous improvement record.
Proficiency in using quality tools: FMEA, 8D, Fishbone, Pareto, SPC, MSA, and Control Plan
Excellent communication and supplier management skills
Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities
Qualifications & Experience
Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
Experience: 12–15 years in Quality Control / Supplier Quality in a pump or heavy engineering manufacturing industry
Certifications (Preferred):
Six Sigma Green Belt
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
NDT Level II PT/UT/VT/MPT
