Job Title: Manager, Group Risk

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Compensation:

Reporting into: Chief of Staff to the Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer

Role Purpose

To support Prudential’s Group Risk function by managing and monitoring budgets, intra-company contracts, and expenses.  The role supports senior decision‑making through robust analysis, clear reporting, and strong collaboration with Group Finance, Actuarial, Human Resources, and local market Risk teams.

Key Accountabilities

Financial Planning & Performance

  • Support Group Risk budgeting, forecasting, and outlook processes, including expense monitoring, variance analysis, and trend analysis.
  • Manage the cost centers within the Group Risk function by analyzing cost and activity drivers, identifying risks, pressures, and efficiency opportunities, and liaising with Group Finance on required changes.
  • Partner with Group Finance to ensure alignment with Group planning assumptions and governance requirements.
  • Partner with Group Transformation teams to ensure accurate reporting of Risk-related project actuals and forecasts.

Internal Reporting

  • Produce accurate and timely Group Risk Financial MI, dashboards, and analysis for senior management.
  • Support the preparation of financial materials for internal committees, ensuring clarity, consistency, and insight.
  • Maintain strong discipline over data quality, financial reconciliations, and reporting controls.

Resource Demand Monitoring

  • Work with Human Resources and Group Risk teams to maintain a staff list (permanent and contingent worker) and organizational charts, and manage a vacancy and recruitment plan.

Intra-Company Service Agreements

  • Work with Risk teams across the Group to maintain the intra-company agreements in place between Group Risk and the Local Business Units.
  • Work with Risk teams across the Group to ensure that the annual recharge process runs smoothly.
  • Monitor recharge payments with Group Finance to ensure adequate cashflow within Group Risk.

Other

  • Support the Chief of Staff on other ad-hoc initiatives.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong experience in financial planning
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with different teams across multiple geographies and business units
  • High standards of accuracy in financial reporting, reconciliations, and documentation
