Who You Are:

The Manager, Global Social Media & Innovation is a highly motivated, strategic leader with a passion for social media, digital culture, and innovation. This role is responsible for shaping and executing global, multi-platform social media strategies that drive brand growth, engagement, and social commerce performance for Michael Kors.

This individual will lead the development, execution, and measurement of social strategies across key platforms, ensuring content and community experiences are aligned with brand vision, business objectives, and cultural relevance. They will oversee Michael Kors’ global social commerce channels, partner closely with the Creative team on content planning and distribution, and establish best-in-class community management practices.

The Manager, Global Social Media & Innovation will collaborate cross-functionally with regional social teams, e-commerce, paid media, and other key stakeholders to ensure global consistency while enabling locally relevant execution across markets. They will actively monitor the global social and competitive landscape, develop benchmarking and performance insights, and translate trends into forward-looking strategies that elevate the future of Michael Kors’ content, community, and commerce ecosystem.

This role requires a strong understanding of emerging platforms, digital behaviors, and evolving technologies, with the ability to identify opportunities for innovation while maintaining a disciplined, brand-led approach.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead global content, community, and social commerce strategies across major social platforms, overseeing official brand accounts, content calendars, and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Creative team to identify social-first opportunities, key brand moments, and talent partnerships, providing strategic input while creative development is managed by the Creative team.
  • Oversee daily content publishing and platform management across global social channels, supporting seasonal campaigns, global events, and culturally relevant moments.
  • Manage global social content planning and asset coordination, including creative briefs, campaign support, and live-event social execution.
  • Monitor social trends, emerging platforms, and competitive activity to inform forward-looking strategies and content recommendations.
  • Lead social reporting and analytics, delivering performance insights and educating internal teams on platform trends and best practices.
  • Manage and evolve global social commerce channels (Instagram and TikTok), maintaining brand shops, reporting on performance, and identifying optimization opportunities.
  • Lead community management across global channels, ensuring engagement reflects brand tone, values, and aspirational positioning; monitor sentiment and escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure global consistency and local relevance across international platforms.
  • Drive digital innovation initiatives with platform partners and external vendors across emerging formats including AR, AI/CGI, gaming, and immersive experiences.
  • Oversee the Team Kors Ambassador program and partner with E-commerce to expand Social UGC initiatives.
  • Manage the global social content and innovation budget.
  • Lead, mentor, and oversee the Social Analyst/Strategist, providing guidance on strategy, execution, and professional development while ensuring high-quality deliverables across global social initiatives.

You’ll Need to Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in marketing, business, or communications
  • 5+ years experience in social media management, at a fashion/retail brand or agency, preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, X, Pinterest, Instagram, LINE, Weibo, WeChat, etc.)
  • Familiarity with social tools such as Sprinklr, Opal etc. a plus
  • Ability to think creatively and problem-solve while juggling multiple projects
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate and effectively communicate social media performance
  • Ability to work in NYC office 4 days a week

Compensation Range: 

90,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD
