Job Description:

The Manager, Global Payroll, is a high visibility role overseeing global payroll compliance and management of payroll providers across Dimensional’s international footprint. As the owner of global payroll, you will play a critical role ensuring that our employees, our most important asset, are paid accurately and on- time, while maintaining the integrity of our global payroll operations. You will be responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the relationship with strategic payroll partners that are part of Dimensional’s international payroll infrastructure. This role will be familiar with working in an international environment, ensuring compliance with established procedures for the accurate and timely preparation of payroll, as well as documentation, maintenance and disbursement of payroll, related payroll taxes, vacation, PTO and leave of absence records for their relevant areas. This position will be an individual contributor role with core responsibilities ranging from the oversight of the payroll process for assigned countries to coordination with partners in Human Resources and Finance departments. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Oversee and administer payroll for multiple foreign entities, including Canada, EMEA (United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands) and Asia- Pac region (Singapore, Japan), as well as compliance with local rules and regulations. 
  • Manage the relationship with multiple payroll providers across foreign entities, overseeing service delivery, issue escalation and overall vendor performance, to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. 
  • Lead regular governance calls and manage issue escalation as part of vendor management for payroll providers across Canada, Asia and Europe. 
  • Validate and review the accuracy of payroll runs, as well as administering and tracking any payroll deductions or withholdings on an ad hoc basis.  
  • Coordination of efforts and partnership with colleagues in HR and Finance to identify and implement opportunities to enhance payroll processing & process simplification. 
  • Ensure the processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations accurately and timely. 
  • Review and reconcile foreign payroll tax filings, as well as assisting with responses to tax authority inquiries. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to statutory rules and regulations in multiple jurisdictions, including responsibility for the timely and accurate filings.  
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of country-specific payroll and tax laws. 
  • Perform ad- hoc work/ special projects with departments across the firm, including Finance and Human Resource on various compensation, benefits, mobility, and shadow payroll projects. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience operating in payroll operations. 
  • 5+ years of payroll experience in a global organization 
  • Proficiency in Workday Payroll is fundamental to success in the role. 
  • Experience in a multinational organization, including payroll processing for foreign subsidiaries. 
  • Demonstrated success in coordinating team efforts and managing vendor relations. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills; ability to interact with all levels of employees. 
  • Strong analytical mind-set with an ability to synthesize data and input from various sources. 
  • Knowledge of current payroll government regulations 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data accuracy when handling employee information. 
  • Advanced experience with Excel and working proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook 

  

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Asset Management or Financial Services industry experience 
  • Chartered Institute for Payroll Professional (CIPP) designation or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
