The opportunity

Join our Leader Assist team as a People Consultant, where you’ll be the first point of contact for leaders with their people management queries, issues and cases. You’ll act as a trusted advisor supporting leaders in managing their teams and developing their people management capabilities. You’ll have the opportunity to develop and build on your HR generalist skills.

As a part of a team that takes a customer-centred approach, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our leaders are equipped to effectively manage people matters. On a daily basis, you’ll be managing performance, conduct and wellbeing cases, responding to leader queries and providing support to the People Business Partnering team on cyclical activities, organisational changes and other people initiatives.

Your new role

As a People Consultant you will work on:

  • Providing guidance, advice and coaching to support leaders with their people management queries, and enhance their leadership skills
  • Supporting leaders with pragmatic, people-centric guidance on performance management, absence management and flexible working arrangement requests
  • Managing non-complex conduct and health & wellbeing cases in partnership with leaders, and the broader People team
  • Contributing to the development of internal resources, templates and knowledge bank content
  • Providing administrative support on organisational changes, people projects, continuous improvement initiatives and cyclical HR activities as needed
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders to support the people and business agenda.

About you

To be successful you will have recent experience in an HR advisory role, ideally within a large corporate or complex environment. You will demonstrate experience supporting people leaders in managing performance, conduct and health & wellbeing cases end to end, with the ability to influence and advise leaders to achieve positive outcomes to their queries and cases.

You will also have:

  • Experience in managing complex high-volume administrative activities, or experience participating in organisational change processes
  • Strong verbal, written communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • The ability to work at pace on a variety of complex HR matters, and able to effectively prioritise competing priorities
  • A continuous learning mindset, and openness to new ideas and ways of working
  • Comfortable working as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in using HRIS platforms and ER case management systems (we use Workday and ServiceNow)
