What is the opportunity?

Manager, Global Markets Financial Advisory, plays an integral part in the organization by providing support, development, and analysis for RBC Capital Markets through business advisory, financial planning and analysis.

As part of the RBC Capital Markets Performance Management team, this role contributes to the continued success of the Global Markets business, with a focus on Macro Products (Flow Rates, Structured Rates, FX, Commodities, Futures) and Spread Products (Credit, Alternative Finance, Securitization, Muni Products) through management of financial reporting, forecasting and enabling insights to drive performance.

What will you do?

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Support senior business leaders with financial insights including reviewing financial results, analyzing historical trends to enable forward-looking insights
  • Assist in preparing weekly/monthly performance packages for senior management, analyzing trends in revenue, expenses, and balance sheet metrics
  • Collaborate with Business Management team to support ad-hoc reporting requests on desk performance, and capital deployment 
  • Collaborate with Product Control and Financial control teams to support the month-end close process, and provide central oversight
  • Use data tools to visualize data and identify insights

Forecasting & Planning Support

  • Support the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and strategic planning processes under senior guidance
  • Refine data inputs, variance analysis, and commentary templates to enhance accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist the business in evaluating potential scenarios by providing financial advisory input using historical trends and analysis

Executive Communication and Process Improvement

  • Translate complex financial data into clear, concise narratives for internal stakeholders and senior audience
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows and automate repetitive tasks
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Control, Business Management) to ensure data integrity.

What you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in financial analysis, forecasting, or reporting
  • Ability to convert financial data and knowledge into clear and concise messaging with actionable advice for business partners
  • Excellent problem solving and proven analytical skills, with a high degree of initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task effectively
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice-to-have

  • Knowledge about Capital Markets and Global Markets businesses is a plus
  • Working towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Knowledge and experience using analytical tools and managing large datasets
