Manager, Global Cold Chain

Position Summary

The Alexion Global Transportation & Cold Chain department is a very compliance driven department with responsibility for product product on a global scale, and we are recruiting for a Global Cold Chain Manager

This position is responsible for leading & providing deep functional expertise in cold chain packaging and cold chain logistics operations in line with GDP for the needs of a growing global business.

In this role, you should have strong leadership & technical writing and communication skills, with an ability to prioritise against different timelines.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Develop & lead an Alexion Cold Chain COE for new and existing products and modalities · Lead the implementation of temperature-controlled transportation & storage policies, guidelines, and strategies that cover primary and secondary transportation lanes, as well as warehousing, and that align with and supports the organisation's vision, current and long-term business objectives

· Develop & drive a compliant route risk assessment process, that ensures Alexion product is transported through the most secure and reliable temperature-controlled shipping lanes

· Responsible for providing deep functional expertise in thermal protection system and cold chain logistics operations for the global business

· Assess improvement areas for the Global Transportation & Cold Chain function around Cold Chain and temperature control and deliver on any modifications required

· Lead the identification & introduction of new and existing Thermal protection systems for Alexion’s needs for existing and new products

· Partner with Validation, Distribution, Strategic Sourcing, Clinical, Quality functions and external partners to lead & deliver on robust thermal protection systems and temperature-controlled logistics & warehousing solutions across our network

· Act as a trusted partner to all internal and external functions to ensure cold chain operational and business requirements are understood.

· Support health authority inspections with responsibility to develop & present storyboards for the Cold Chain function within Global Transportation

· Partner closely with the Global Logistics team around third party negotiations and long-term agreements, ensuring quality, supply and cost are in line with company expectations.

· Present business recommendations around cold chain operations in line with industry regulations and policies

· Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios

• Required Experience / Qualifications

· 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

· Substantial prior experience and technical expertise in all aspects of pharmaceutical temperature controlled products compliance

· Past experience in interfacing with regulatory authorities

· BA/BS Degree

· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access

· Strong organizational skills

· Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills.

· Ability to develop internal and external relationships.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
