We are seeking an experienced Associate Planner to join our team in Auckland, specialising in infrastructure projects, including water-related consenting under New Zealand legislation.
What you’ll do:
- Provide exceptional planning advice and technical support to obtain resource consents/approvals for our clients as part of a team of planners.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to define scope, deliverables, and timelines, and then achieve these milestones.
- Prepare, review, and approve resource consent applications and supporting technical analysis.
- Ensure our project work complies with relevant legislation and company policies.
- As a key member of the New Zealand Environment and Planning team, mentor junior planners and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Support and manage budgeting, resource planning, risk assessment, and business development activities, including contributing to winning work and developing client relationships.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in planning (or equivalent).
- Be a full or associate member of the New Zealand Planning Institute (or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in New Zealand planning projects, specifically in the three waters’ space.
- Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to work as a team and mentor junior planners.
