Position Description:

The Manager, Football Recruiting (Director of Football Scouting) is responsible for showcasing the University of Louisville Football program in the most positive and compelling manner, with the primary goal of attracting top prospective student-athletes who will excel both on the field and in the classroom. Key responsibilities include identifying prospective student-athletes who align with program standards and values, developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies to engage and attract these athletes, and coordinating campus visits to ensure a high-quality experience for recruits and their families.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct, plan, and supervise annual Football recruiting efforts and strategies, including oversight of the annual recruiting calendar, daily recruiting operational and logistical processes; Oversee strategic recruiting plan for prospective student-athletes; plan, develop, and execute recruitment strategy.

  • Directly oversee Football Recruiting staff.

  • Identify, collect data/research and video, statistics, etc. consistently on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis on prospective student-athletes to provide direction to the coaching staff in the recruiting process.

  • Supervise planning and coordination of official and unofficial visits to campus.

  • Manage the roster/recruitment database; identify and plan recruiting positions and forecast talent needs for the upcoming seasons.

  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with high school coaches both locally and nationally to assist in the process of evaluating prospective student-athletes; serve as the Football program’s NFL liaison.

  • Understand and comply with all NCAA and ACC rules and regulations pertaining to recruiting (on and off campus), report to and work with Athletics Compliance on any recruiting issues.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Four (4) years of experience with a collegiate or professional football program; experience may include work as a collegiate graduate assistant, full-time position coach, and/or NFL scouting experience.

  • Knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations.

  • Ability to travel and work hours on nights, weekends, and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working experience in a collegiate, Division I FBS football program.

  • Proficient knowledge of XOS or other related digital coaching software, Hudl, and Twitter.

  • Effective administrative and organizational skills and ability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks and projects according to deadlines.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
