Job Description

What is the Opportunity

As a representative of Head Office Finance, this role provides governance over Share Based Compensation accounting and reporting ensuring appropriate controls and processes are in place. This role also ensures compliance with various regulatory reporting requirements related to the reporting of Shared Based Compensation in RBC Annual Reports/Proxy and other related disclosures.

***Please note this is a 3-month contract opportunity with a strong likelihood of extension***

What will you do?

  • Responsible for the accounting and reporting of stock-based compensation plans including FUP, PDSUP plans and stock options plans.
  • Maintain a central expertise of reporting and accounting of stock-based compensation plans.
  • Coordinate and execute financial statement preparation for stock-based compensation information for RBC group of companies.
  • Jointly with HR, maintain an inventory of all stock-based compensation plans
  • Jointly with Treasury, review and maintain hedging requirements for existing Stock based plans and the accounting for the hedges
  • Coordinate the year end/quarterly reporting for RBC Annual Report and its subsidiaries relating to stock-based compensation plans.
  • Stay abreast of relevant pronouncements in IFRS and industry practices relating to stock-based compensation plans.
  • Active involvement in the development and implementation of a framework to establish linkage of key drivers to stock-based costs.

What do you need to succeed?

  • 2 years or more in Financial Analyst or Compensation Analyst capacity
  • University degree in a relevant field (Finance, Accounting, Mathematics)
  • Strong accounting and analytical skills
  • CPA or CFA, obtained or in progress, is a strong asset
  • Excellent/advanced skills with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Initiative and creative thinking
  • Teamwork and cooperation
  • Ability to work independently and manage numerous priorities simultaneously
