Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Electronics Engineering Manager 1 based out of Rolling Meadows, IL in our Multidomain Sensing, Targeting and Survivability (MSTS) Division.  

This position reports directly to the IRCM Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will be a full-time onsite position located at our Rolling Meadows, IL facility, requiring travel to other Northrop Grumman facilities, customers, and supplier sites as needed. 

The Manager will be responsible for leading the IRCM Processor Manufacturing Engineering team.  This is a leadership position where the individual must be passionate and lead a team of test and process engineers in a dynamic and growing environment to support the assembly, alignment, and test of Processors and Systems supporting the IRCM product line. The candidate must display consistent impeccable judgment and embody Northrop Grumman leadership behaviors. The successful candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels and organizations.

What you will get to do:

  • Developing needed processes, equipment, software, and test stations supporting production and depot environments both on and off the Rolling Meadows campus for this critical area.
  • Support the development of proposals, capacity analyses, and forecasting of capital equipment and depot expansion projects.
  • Driving continuous improvement to improve our ability to deliver capability faster and more economically to our customers.
  • A critical aspect of this position will be the ability to work across functional lines collaborating with all departments to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Identifying, allocating and managing engineering resources (both staffing and non-staffing resources)
  • Providing day-to-day people leadership of a diverse team and creating an environment that accelerates development of talent and enhances employee engagement

  • Have demonstrated success leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Possess strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors.

Basic Qualifications for the Electronics Engineering Manager 1:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment; OR a Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related STEM field with 3 or more years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant experience in manufacturing or design.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications for the Electronics Engineering Manager 1:

  • Experience in manufacturing engineering with a specific focus on electro-optics and gimballed systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in test equipment design and fabrication, optical alignment equipment, tool design, and facility planning.
  • Experience with product flow and production processes.
  • Experience reading and understanding product drawings.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in Capital Project Management
  • Experience in cybersecurity compliance
  • Software tools experience, including SAP and databases.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment, with demonstrated experience running a work cell, engineering group, or technical projects.
  • Experience in facilities planning or capital planning.
  • Experience leading and developing people.
  • Current Security Clearance – Secret

Primary Level Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
