The Manager, Education, Onboarding & Certification leads the strategy, design, and governance of learning programs that equip Manulife Bank’s sales professionals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Accountable for the full learning lifecycle - from onboarding to ongoing professional development and certification - the Manager ensures all training initiatives are aligned with regulatory requirements, business priorities, and advisor-experience goals.

This role integrates adult-learning theory with operational practicality, creating curricula that drive performance and compliance simultaneously. The incumbent oversees instructional design, training delivery, certification management, and measurement of learning impact through data and analytics.

Working collaboratively with Field Enablement, Content, and Change Managers, they ensure learning programs are seamlessly embedded into broader enablement and transformation initiatives. The position requires strategic foresight, creative design thinking, and strong operational governance to maintain consistency, scalability, and quality across all education programs.

Ultimately, the Manager builds a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and professional excellence across Manulife Bank’s national sales organization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Strategy - Develop role-based curricula and certification pathways.
  • Training Delivery Oversight – Ensure facilitators deliver effective training.
  • Program Governance – Track adoption, utilization, and compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement – Collect feedback and refine programs.


Job Requirements:

  • 7+ years’ experience in learning & development, education strategy, or enablement.
  • Proven success designing and managing learning programs in financial services or other regulated sectors.
  • Expertise in instructional design, adult learning, and facilitation techniques.
  • Experience managing bilingual and geographically distributed training teams.
  • Knowledge of compliance training and certification governance.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to measure and report on learning impact.
  • Proficiency with LMS, digital-learning platforms, and reporting tools (Power BI preferred).
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and continuous improvement.
  • Strong project-management discipline and attention to detail.

Preferred Requirements

  • Degree or certification in Education, Adult Learning, or Organizational Development.
  • Bilingual (English/French).
  • Change-management certification or experience integrating learning with transformation programs.

Decision Authorities

  • Approves curriculum, certification requirements, and learning metrics.
  • Determines training schedules, modalities, and resource allocations.
  • Authorizes budget expenditures for training materials and technology.
  • Escalates compliance risks or resource constraints to the Director.

Working Arrangement

Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between

$90,000.00 CAD - $140,000.00 CAD.
