Paid Media Digital Manager (Connector – Manager Level)

 

Role Overview

 

The Paid Media Digital Manager leads the planning, execution, optimization, and performance of paid social and programmatic media programs across assigned client accounts. This role balances hands-on platform management with strategic thinking, data-driven insights, and operational ownership, ensuring paid media programs deliver measurable business impact.

 

As a Connector at the Manager level, this role is accountable for owning paid media workstreams end-to-end, partnering closely with planning, creative, analytics, and client experience teams to deliver integrated programs that align to client objectives and Golin’s earned-first, performance-driven approach. The Manager demonstrates strong judgment, anticipates challenges, and takes responsibility for quality, timelines, and financial implications of their work.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategy & Activation

  • Develop and manage full-funnel paid social and programmatic strategies aligned to client goals, audience insights, and platform best practices.
  • Lead channel selection, audience development, budget allocation, and flighting for small-to-mid scale activations, ensuring efficient performance and scalability.
  • Apply platform and performance insights to inform creative direction, messaging, audience refinement, and landing page approach in partnership with creative and analytics teams.
  • Stay current on platform updates, emerging formats, measurement evolution, and industry trends, proactively identifying implications for client programs and optimization opportunities.

Execution & Optimization

  • Oversee and execute paid campaigns across platforms including Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Reddit, DV360, StackAdapt, The Trade Desk, and other biddable platforms used across accounts.
  • Ensure campaigns are properly set up, optimized, and maintained to meet defined KPIs, including awareness, engagement, CTR, conversions, CPA, or client-specific goals.
  • Demonstrate situational awareness by anticipating performance risks, flagging issues early, and recommending solutions.

Reporting, Insights & Client Communication

  • Own campaign reporting and performance analysis, building dashboards and translating data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Serve as a day-to-day paid media lead, confidently presenting strategy, results, learnings, and next steps to internal teams and clients.
  • Contribute POVs and insights that strengthen client counsel and elevate paid media thinking within integrated programs.

Project, Financial & Operational Ownership

  • Manage paid media timelines, deliverables, and weekly status updates, ensuring work is delivered on time and to quality standards.
  • Partner with finance and account teams to oversee budgets, pacing, forecasts, invoicing, and financial accuracy, understanding how time and spend impact revenue and profitability.
  • Maintain internal documentation including campaign setup frameworks, budget trackers, forecasts, and reporting templates.
  • Take ownership of work quality and output, proactively flagging scope, timing, or resourcing concerns.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–6+ years of experience managing paid social and/or programmatic advertising programs.
  • Hands-on expertise across major paid platforms including Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and Reddit, as well as programmatic platforms such as DV360, StackAdapt, and The Trade Desk.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret platform data, dashboards, and Excel-based reporting to generate insights.
  • Experience developing media strategies, audience frameworks, and testing methodologies.
  • Clear, confident communicator with the ability to translate performance data into client-ready narratives and recommendations.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated accountability, ownership, and understanding of the financial implications of media execution and time management.

 

Salary Range: $55,000 USD - $95,000 USD

 

Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
