Major Duties:

  • You will oversee Engineering and operations for igniters, extruded propellant rocket assembly, and energetic aircrew escape devices, such primers, initiators, thrusters, rocket catapults, and parachute deployment rocket motors (PDRM).
  • You will direct complex programs and organizations performing technical, administrative and professional work in the area of energetics, explosives and/or chemical manufacturing/production/operations.
  • You will provide leadership direction and control to ensure program objectives are met and that the organization and/or program/project is adequately staffed to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • You will provide effective project management, quality control, and product improvements on assigned projects, ensure development and manufacturing work proceeds safely, within budget, on schedule, and compliant with existing requirements.

Qualifications: In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional ENGINEER or SCIENTIST, providing technical oversight and guidance on energetics, explosives, or chemical manufacturing production and operations ensuring adherence to project requirements (e.g. quality control, improvement, safety, schedule) for improved efficiency and effectiveness of assigned ordnance programs.
