Manager (Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics) / School of Informatics & IT
[What you will be working on]
- Support the Course Chair and Course Team in overseeing curriculum delivery, academic progression, and student development within a polytechnic context.
- Assume academic governance responsibilities, including vetting of assessments, teaching materials, and teaching plans, leveraging relevant experience, training, and domain expertise.
- Perform supervisory responsibilities, including conducting appraisals, providing guidance and mentoring to academic staff on professional practice, and supporting their career development.
- Lead and support the course team in the effective delivery of academic operations and day-to-day course administration.
- Work with course leadership to plan and build capabilities required to support new strategic directions. Analyse the effectiveness of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices, and recommend enhancements to strengthen the quality of student learning experiences.
- Ensure clear and regular communication with staff and students on academic and student development matters. Engage students through formal and informal platforms to gather feedback on their educational and overall student experience.
- Support student development matters within the course and across the polytechnic, including ensuring appropriate pastoral care and support for students with diverse needs.
- Work with the Course Chair to establish and sustain networks with industry partners and educational institutions locally and overseas, to enhance internship and employment opportunities for students and to stay abreast of evolving industry needs.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to promote academic excellence by initiating and leading academic innovation and improvement projects, and by supporting action research activities within the School.
- Engage stakeholders, including parents and secondary schools, in outreach and engagement activities.
[What we are looking for]
- Relevant qualifications and experience in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Recognised specialist with a high level of academic expertise and domain knowledge, with demonstrated team leadership experience.
- Strong experience in academic operations, including academic processes, pedagogy, and people management, preferably within a polytechnic context.
- Familiarity with the Singapore education system, particularly the polytechnic landscape.
- Working knowledge of business continuity, audit, total workplace health and safety, with a strong service-quality mindset.
- Proven experience managing teams that deliver academic computing services and resources.
- A solid foundation in resource planning, budgeting, and procurement will be advantageous.
- Meticulous and detail-oriented, with a keen interest in administrative work.
