Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Cyber Systems Engineering Manager 1 based out of San Antonio, TX.

What You’ll get to Do:

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) seeks to fill an Engineering and Sciences (E&S) Manager Level 1 position in San Antonio, TX.  This Manager of Cyber Systems Engineering position is a dual-role management position.  The first role is as the E&S Functional Manager for a team of engineers supporting a portfolio of cyber programs.  The second role is performing technical responsibilities for one of our Cyber Systems Engineering programs.  This department aligns to the Navigation, Intelligence & Connectivity division and supports engineering efforts across multiple business portfolios.  The position requires daily onsite work in San Antonio, TX and may require periodic travel to other Northrop Grumman, subcontractor, and customer site locations.

Functional Manager duties include:

  • Provide engineering functional oversight for a team of cyber systems engineers; this includes active employee engagement, career development, conducting employee performance reviews, merit planning, mentoring, and training.

  • Promote adherence to our engineering processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure quality work products and reduce risk on the program.

  • Staffing and workload forecasting; recruit new talent, to include entry-level positions as well as experienced candidates for mid and senior-level positions, to meet staffing commitments.

  • Maintain ongoing awareness and understanding of the Cyber sub-IPT Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and support the Cost Account Manager (CAM) in status and execution support for all technical tasks.

  • Perform other duties as directed to include team leadership and agile coaching.

Cyber Systems Engineering Technical Support to Program:

  • Cyber systems engineering support for assignments

  • Cyber engineering requirement development and derivation for systems

  • Cyber consultation on system development of architecture and design

  • Development of test plans through test execution

  • Perform Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) stereotype application and modeling activities

  • Understand and support the development of authorization package with needed artifacts

  • Interface cross functionally with product line organizations to support the development of cyber protections and cyber survivable products

  • Perform other duties as directed

Basic Qualifications for Manager 1:

  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 5 years of technical experience; Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience; or PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 year of experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following systems engineering activities for cyber systems: requirements engineering, architecture and design, systems integration and test, verification and validation, model based systems engineering.

  • Proven technical leadership experience within a program Integrated Product Team (IPT), Research and Development (R&D) or Advanced Systems, technology, and/or functional environments within an Agile environment.

  • Current DoD 8570 IASAE II Certification (CISSP preferred) or an ability to obtain it within six months of hire. Maintaining necessary cyber certifications is a condition of continued employment.

  • An active DoD Secret clearance.

  • Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance with Special Program Access (SAP) and SCI accesses.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS

  • Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools

  • Experience with SysML, UML, or other modeling languages

  • Experience using tools to model large systems with multiple developers

  • Experience in cyber software and/or hardware design

  • Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirements Specifications, and Interface Description Documents

  • Experience in the miliary aerospace development environment

  • Experience with ICBM weapon systems

  • Experience with complex system development on large programs

Primary Level Salary Range: $121,000.00 - $181,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
