Secondment/Contract: Up to 18 Months

The Manager, Content Planning and Projects will lead content delivery, performance, and stakeholder collaboration to grow LCBO's business and better serve customers. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Content, you will lead the delivery of digital content experiences across lcbo.com, app and LCBO customer touchpoints. You will plan, produce, and deliver content in a way that makes it customer centric. This approach must also be data-informed, and optimized for discoverability, engagement, and conversion of promotional and merchandising content.

About the Role

Content Execution & Delivery 

  • Meet milestones, timelines, and dependencies by leading execution and delivery of digital content initiatives across channels.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and act as the primary contact for briefing, asset requirements, prioritization, and delivery.
  • Partner with publishing for QA and launch readiness to provide a high-quality customer experience.
  • Streamline workflows and identify opportunities to improve ways of working and team efficiency.

Team Leadership & Collaboration 

  • Lead and manage a team of internal and external freelance editors and coordinators, support prioritization and delivery.
  • Foster collaboration with internal partners (Marketing, eCommerce, Digital Product, Analytics, SEO, UX-Design/Studio) and external agency.
  • Contribute to strategy and planning discussions to ensure content readiness for upcoming initiatives.

Science of Content & Optimization 

  • Apply data, performance insights and benchmarking to inform content planning, prioritization, and optimization.
  • Ensure content supports digital merchandising, conversion, and product discovery
  • Partner with analytics and SEO teams to improve content discoverability, on-site search performance and customer journeys.
  • Support accessibility best practices in collaboration with UX-Design and accessibility teams.

  

Content Operations & Scalability 

  • Partner with Content Publishing to support content strategy, governance, and best practices.
  • Support the reuse and modularization of content as a service to improve scalability across promotional periods, campaigns and channels.
  • Collaborate with teams managing CMS, DAM and commerce platforms to ensure content is structured and governed.

Personalization Enablement 

  • Collaborate with UX-Design, CRM and teams managing Martech to support execution of personalized content experiences across digital channels.
  • Coordinate planning and production of content variants and assets required for audience segments, targeted campaigns and experimentation.
  • Work within a digital ecosystem that includes platforms such as CMS, DAM, and Marketing Technology tools (Adobe Target, Adobe Journey Optimizer and more). Prior experience with these platforms is an asset but not required.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement 

  • Explore opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve workflows and content production as part of LCBO's evolving digital practices.
  • Stay informed on evolving best practices in digital content, personalization, and eCommerce experiences.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant digital content or content planning digital, and project management experience.
  • Understanding of the digital ecosystem.
  • SEO and content optimization experience.
  • Experience with digital analytics and measurement using platforms like Google, Adobe analytics and similar; including reporting and distill results and KPIs.
  • Experience using productivity tools (Trello/Jira/Asana).
  • Experience with MarTech (Adobe stack: Target Journey, Optimiser, Experience Manager), Digital Asset Management (DAM) and AI tools a plus.
  • Experience managing and tracking budgets, vendor procurement process and management.
  • Experience managing a team of internal and external resources (vendor staff, production agency).
  • Experience helping individuals and teams deepen their content skills. 
  • Ability to work across diverse teams and manage multiple stakeholders, influencing them without formal authority. 
  • Ability to resolve conflicts at all levels with tact. 
  • Have an eagle eye and attention to detail.
  • Strong self-management, self-pacing, and organizational skills 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced retail environment of change, unpredictability, and ambiguity.
