Manager, Child Life - Full Time - Days


The Manager for the Child Life Program supervises, directs, participates and evaluates Child Life Activities and responsible for the administration of the Child Life Program.  Plans and implements the activities of therapeutic play and provides emotional and psychosocial support for hospitalized and ambulatory children in-group settings and at the bedside.  

The Child Life Manager functions within the established philosophy and goals of the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Nursing and New York Presbyterian Hospital in planning activities that support therapeutic play, self-expression activities, education and coping strategies which help support pediatric patients and families cope with the stress of illness, injury, disability and hospitalization in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The Manager also needs to serve as a programmatic leader, collaborating with outside organizations/donors/grant programs.

This is a full time position at NYP/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital

Required Criteria:

  • Certified Child Life Specialist by the Child Life Council
  • Master’s degree in area related to child development, psychology, or one of the expressive therapies (art, music, and drama)
  • Three to five years experience as a Child Life Therapist
  • Managerial level or previous leadership responsibilities

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.

Salary Range:

$100,000-$115,000/Annual
