About the Capital Partners Division

EDB’s Capital Partners division oversees Whole-of-Government efforts to engage sophisticated private capital players whose presence and investments advance Singapore’s economic and innovation priorities. These include family offices and venture capital funds. The team works closely with other government agencies and organisations to drive initiatives that can catalyse quality capital and networks into Singapore’s growth areas in sustainability, healthcare, deep tech, and innovation; and attract high-growth portfolio companies of these funds to Singapore.

[What you will be working on]

Job Responsibilities
You will play a crucial role in the team to support and implement key activities and initiatives with a portfolio of family offices and VC funds. In the process, you will work closely with investment principals, family principals, external stakeholders within and outside the Singapore government, and other teams in EDB to achieve win-win partnership outcomes.


Account Management
- Serve as the main point of contact from EDB to a portfolio of family offices and VC funds, and oversee the end-to-end process of account development and engagement
- Gain deep understanding of each account’s investment mandate, portfolio composition, operational structure, and strategic initiatives, as you implement tailored engagement strategies
- Identify avenues to deepen the relevance of these engagements to Singapore, including facilitating public-private sector discussions

Market Analysis
- Stay updated on global and regional trends in family office investing, VC fund dynamics; identify trends and observations across the ecosystem and recommend opportunities that align with Singapore’s economic priorities
- Work with government stakeholders and divisions within EDB to identify gaps and opportunities where private capital can play a catalytic role in advancing national priorities
- Within the venture capital fund portfolio, analyse their investment approach and differentiation to scope out a partnership model and identify suitable portfolio companies with an interest to expand in Singapore

This role at EDB will give you the opportunity to:
- Engage senior investment principals and decision-makers across across private, public and innovation sectors.
- Shape new capital pathways and Singapore’s approach to attracting and activating family office and VC funds in support of our national priorities
- Contribute directly to an exciting new initiative to attract global high-growth companies to Singapore

[What we are looking for]

Requirements
To meet the challenges of this role, you must have/be:
- At least 3-8 years of relevant working experience in strategy development, account management, business development
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder partnerships and translate strategies into executable outcomes
- Strong analytical skills to design, implement and evaluate scalable capital pathways
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken, to engage senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment – and to pivot quickly when priorities shift
- Singaporean.

Good To Have
- Familiarity with family office dynamics and venture capital fund structures
- Experience in partnership development and investor relations
