WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

As a key member of the Capital Markets (CM) Performance Management team, you will act as a finance advisor responsible for management reporting, financial planning, and analysis to support business leaders in embedding AI across CM lines of business and strategies. In this capacity, you'll be integral to identifying, tracking, and messaging Capital Markets' contribution to RBC's Investor Day commitment to generate $700mm to $1bn in value from AI & digital initiatives.

Your core work involves managing Capital Markets' monthly and quarterly financial reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights for senior leadership—including the CFO of RBC Capital Markets and other Finance Executives. Alongside this, you'll evaluate AI initiatives through a finance lens, analyzing project costs and ROI to help executives understand the true business impact of digital transformation.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Be the primary finance advisor for AI and Digital Innovation initiatives. Partner with the Head of AI and Digital Innovation to assess financial and operational performance, develop insights, and present findings to senior leadership
  • Evaluate AI project ROI and business impact. Analyze the costs and benefits of AI deployments to determine whether these tools are delivering expected improvements and generating measurable financial value
  • Manage Capital Markets' financial reporting cycles. Own monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis for senior management and external stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and actionable insights
  • Provide strategic financial analysis on AI and Digital Innovation. Support executives in identifying business opportunities, understanding the regulatory environment, and making informed decisions based on financial data and market trends
  • Collaborate on financial forecasting and planning. Work with CM Finance advisors to maintain financial estimates, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term strategic plans
  • Build expertise in AI from a financial perspective. Proactively engage with AI topics and industry developments to deepen your knowledge and enhance your financial analysis, positioning yourself at the forefront of how technology is transforming finance

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must Have:

  • Accounting and finance foundation. CPA designation or Finance MBA, with 3+ years of experience in management reporting, analysis, and strategic projects
  • Analytical skills. Proficient with numbers, Excel, and PowerPoint; able to organize information and solve problems effectively
  • Financial reporting experience. Experience with management reporting and analysis; able to manage multiple priorities and deliver timely results
  • Relationship and stakeholder management. Ability to build relationships, collaborate across teams, and influence others to achieve goals
  • Project management. Experience managing projects and driving change; able to move initiatives forward
  • Adaptability and problem-solving. Able to think independently, adapt to new challenges, and proactively resolve issues
  • Leadership and communication. Able to communicate clearly and work effectively with peers and senior leaders

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with AI concepts and trends or Interest in digital transformation and emerging technologies
  • Solid experience and understanding of bank structure, risk management concepts, and capital markets products and strategies
  • Exposure to regulatory compliance, as well as standard setting and interpretation
