As Director, Line 2 Credit and Financial Risk, you will provide independent oversight across the full credit lifecycle while partnering closely with leaders across credit, finance and treasury. This is a highly visible role where you’ll translate complex portfolio and financial risk insights into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and governance forums.

What you’ll own
- Develop and execute the annual Line 2 Credit and Financial Risk oversight plan across the credit lifecycle
- Deliver independent oversight of credit portfolio performance, including decisioning, credit scoring, behavioural model performance, hardship, collections and recoveries
- Analyse credit risk indicators and portfolio trends against risk appetite thresholds and provide actionable insights on emerging risks
- Provide Line 2 oversight and insight across broader financial risks including liquidity, market risk and capital
- Evaluate credit risk exposures linked to new products, customer segments or market conditions
- Deliver clear, data-led insights to senior leadership and governance forums including the ANZ Credit Risk Committee and the Group Audit and Risk Committee
- Review and challenge first line strategies relating to credit decisioning, underwriting and credit policy
- Strengthen governance frameworks through the development of risk policies, standards and cross-functional communication processes
- Oversee model risk management practices including validation processes, model inventory governance and performance monitoring
- Provide oversight of quantitative risk areas including credit modelling, capital modelling, stress testing and scenario analysis
- Partner with stakeholders to investigate credit risk incidents or policy breaches and ensure effective remediation
- Collaborate with global counterparts to share insights and uplift group-wide credit risk oversight capability
What you’ll bring to the team
- Extensive experience within a Line 1 or Line 2 credit risk function in financial services or fintech consumer lending.
- Proven expertise in credit risk oversight, portfolio analysis and execution of risk governance or oversight frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of lending regulation, credit policy and financial risk management across credit, market or liquidity risk.
- A demonstrated ability to translate complex risk analysis into clear insights that influence senior stakeholders and governance forums.
- Experience monitoring credit model performance and overseeing model risk management practices.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills with the confidence to provide independent challenge and foster trusted partnerships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical insights into clear business language.
- A curious and analytical mindset with the ability to identify emerging risks and challenge assumptions constructively.
- Comfort operating in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve and new challenges emerge.
