The Campus Recreation and Wellness Department of the Division of Student Affairs is seeking to hire a Manager, Campus Recreation (Competitive Sports). The Manager serves as a key department leader and is responsible to oversee and manage all competitive sports programming, engaging thousands of students annually. Providing operational direction for the University’s intramural sports program, this position administers leagues, tournaments, meets, and special events. The Manager also manages more than 20 sport club organizations and is responsible for financial management, ensuring University and governing body compliance, and managing travel, equipment, and operations budgets. Additionally, this position also manages a designated scholarship budget for selected premier sport clubs, requiring a high level of financial stewardship and regulatory oversight.
This position manages and supervises a large staff, including a department coordinator, two or more paid coaches, and over 70 student workers, ensuring effective program delivery. Additionally, this position maintains relationships with key campus and community partners, including Unified Sports and Special Olympics, to advance inclusive programming, collaborative initiatives, and outreach efforts. The Manager also oversees the scheduling, maintenance, and safe use of the department’s outdoor grass and turf facilities, supporting intramural and sport club activities, and participates in the facilitation of summer camps and clinics, leading revenue-generating initiatives, and advancing inclusive programming.

This is a full-time, exempt position with a 37.5-hour regular workweek including evening and weekend hours as required. Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, staffing, and/or scheduling. The primary work location for this position is at the Belknap Campus. Intermittent overnight travel (for professional development, conferences, programs and student trips, etc.) may be required.
