What is the opportunity?
RBC Regional Banking Support’s Commercial Reporting is hiring a Manager, Business Intelligence & Information Management role that will support strategic reporting and visual insights for Regional Banking’s Commercial by successfully transforming data into useful, relevant information, and by leveraging sound business knowledge, additional sources of information, and resources to deliver insight to the Commercial field. The position plays a role in driving strategic, timely, and accurate insights to business partners and senior leaders in a Commercial banking environment, alongside key technology partners.
What will you do?
Utilize cutting-edge business intelligence and reporting solutions to define, measure, and deliver insights that mitigate risk, enhance client experience, and support Commercial advisors and leaders through data-driven coaching and analytics.
Design and oversee the development and enhancement of Tableau reports and performance metrics to monitor performance management, presenting key insights into underlying drivers for informed decision-making.
Respond to ad-hoc investigations, inquiries, data requests, and run production jobs as assigned, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Demonstrate expertise in data and reporting infrastructure design, configuration, and optimization, providing recommendations for effective execution and alignment with business objectives.
Apply design principles and ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes to measure key indicators, disclose trends, and provide actionable insights, ensuring data quality and meaningful performance management.
Be a thought partner within the Commercial Reporting team, participate in design and solution reviews with the Senior Manager and/or internal partners (role design, incentive, practice management, and portfolio quality), understand business strategies and objectives, and define reporting solutions that ensure satisfaction and project success.
Test and validate reports for business and technical requirements, enhance production processes, maintain comprehensive documentation, and demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and adaptation as business needs and analytical tools evolve.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Engineering, or related field, with equivalent experience.
Proven working experience in SAS/SQL and Tableau; demonstrated ETL and big data modeling capabilities with programming experience in SAS/SQL, SQL Server, and Teradata SQL Assistant.
Strong expertise in statistical methods, data profiling, cleaning, and mining. Ability to perform complex data analysis on large datasets and present findings to senior leaders.
Proficient in SQL extracts for data investigation from warehouses and flat files. Experience with Cloud computing technologies (e.g., Snowflake/Snowsight, Trino) and knowledge of RBC’s EDW.
Expert technical documentation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
Proficient in UNIX for process submission, logging, and data storage, and skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Nice-to-have:
Deep knowledge of the Financial Services Industry/Business Financial Services.
Proven experience in developing performance metrics and reports.
Proficiency in programming/coding with Python and Hadoop (HIVE), alongside expertise in Tableau Security and Tableau Server Administration.
Knowledge of fundamentals of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
