What you’ll be doing

The Manager, Brand Marketing is responsible for executing integrated, brand-focused marketing communication strategies and plans. This role has a focus on our global employer brand strategy to lead initiatives that bring our employee value proposition to life, and attract top talent to build CIBC’s workforce of the future.

Reporting to the Director, Purpose & Storytelling, and supporting a Senior Manager on the portfolio, the Manager is a strong brand marketer and communicator who will work closely with internal partners across functions, agencies, and vendors on employer brand-focused communications and campaigns that drive awareness of our employer value proposition and help make CIBC an employer of choice.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.  You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

NOTE: This is a temporary, 12-month, opportunity.

How you’ll succeed

  • Marketing Communications Strategy and Delivery – Strong hands-on experience in the development and delivery of digital campaigns from brief development through to go-to-market. You thrive on driving business results through strong strategic insight, client focus, and executional excellence. Proven experience managing creative asset production for digital and social media campaigns.
  • Digital Content creative and delivery Strong background in real people content development, including experience in interviewing and brief development or hands-on content creation, and strong copy-writing skills for internally led content for organic social media campaigns.
  • Project Management – Exceptional project management skills, with a high degree of organization and attention to detail. Comfort using project management software to coordinate complex initiatives and using budget management software to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Brand Governance Expertise – Ability to serve as a primary steward of the CIBC brand, ensuring internal and external communications, marketing materials and talent-facing assets are on-brand, legally compliant and fit for channel.
  • Relationship Building – Ability to connect across a matrixed organization to gain alignment and support on recommended marketing strategies and tactics. Proactively manage expectations and communication cadence with leaders and internal clients.
  • Social Media Expertise – Ability to act as an Administrator and strategic consultant for best-in-class management of a LinkedIn company page.

Who you are

  • Demonstrated experience in marketing and/or corporate communications (6+ years ideal), with hands-on background in content creation, copy-writing an asset.
  • Experience in managing social media campaigns on social media channels and creation of paid and organic content. Confidence in LinkedIn as a platform, and understanding of best practices to optimize performance an asset.
