About the team

Board Secretariat is a team of five and sits at the centre of the Secretary’s Department, reporting to the Deputy Secretary. The team is responsible for the secure, accurate and efficient management of information flows to the RBA’s three Boards, along with all practical arrangements required to support effective and well-run meetings.

The team also manages the flow of information to the RBA’s Executive Committee and works closely with Board members, senior executives and stakeholders across the organisation. Discretion, organisation and strong relational skills are critical to success in this environment.

About the role

This role is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of Board Secretariat operations, including:

  • Board and committee meeting logistics and scheduling

  • Secure document preparation, distribution and information flows

  • Action tracking and follow-up

  • Direct support to Board members

The role also oversees the management of the RBA Executive Committee, including agenda coordination, paper and minute distribution.

You will lead a small, specialist team and play a key role in maintaining strong governance practices, while identifying opportunities to improve processes and introduce fit-for-purpose innovations that enhance how information and meetings are managed.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Bring demonstrated experience in a similar Board, committee or secretariat role, with strong information control and governance practices

  • Highly developed organisational skills, sound work control and attention to detail

  • Be able to respond calmly, decisively and effectively to unexpected issues in a fast‑moving environment

  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling highly confidential information

  • Be a capable and inclusive people leader who can build engagement, capability and accountability

  • Relate confidently and professionally with senior executives and Board members

  • Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement and responsible change
