Job Summary:

The successful candidate will standardize and streamline our company’s billing practices while identifying opportunities to replace manual processes with system-driven solutions. This role will focus on improving efficiency, ensuring compliance with company policies when issuing invoices, and leveraging our ERP systems to optimize workflows. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in process improvement, contract term evaluation, and ERP system familiarity, with preferred experience in Workday Billing and a background in billing or contracting.

Job Duties:

Provides leadership over Ancillary Billing. Serves as primary point of contact for any non-patient, non-premium billing produced from the ERP system.

  • Plans, supervises and oversees miscellaneous billing function and team members reporting to this position.
  • Responsible for and reviews the work of individuals reporting directly to this position and provides guidance, training, counseling and feedback.
  • Responsible for the accuracy, integrity, documentation and timely preparation of reconciliations, analysis and reporting assigned to this position and its team members.
  • Prepares and conducts performance appraisals for individuals reporting directly to this position.
  • Monitors workflow and workload within the department and works with managers and other Finance leaders to redistribute and prioritize work accordingly.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships across Geisinger, necessary to ensure the completeness and accuracy of invoices. Actively seeks input and works to improve department operations.
  • Checks Billing files for data accuracy and to address errors.
  • Reviews and approves all configuration of customers, billing contracts, and billing schedules utilizing data from various sources.
  • Monitors customer billing contacts for renewals and leads the continuous update and improvement over the billing processes.
  • Responsible for the documentation and adherence to the documented internal controls related to billing and receivable management.
  • Reviews Aging schedule and assists with collection efforts to recover or resolve outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Approves billing adjustments and refund requests when a customer has a credit balance appearing on their account.
  • Works with Finance Partners to identify new billing opportunities.
  • Evaluate recommended disposition and takes the necessary action to resolve the aging or relieve the receivables.
