Position Summary
The Artwork Operations Manager ensures timely, compliant, and right‑first‑time execution of artwork processing across the Artwork Management System (AMS) and connected platforms. The role drives SLA adherence, defect reduction, and operational oversight from intake to release, serving as the escalation point for artwork processing risks and issues. Operating within the Associate Director, Labelling Operations & Change Management framework, the role translates governance and process design into consistent daily execution, matrix‑leads artwork specialists, and acts as the primary point of contact for CMOs, LSCs, and partners.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Artwork Intake & Workflow Control: Govern intake quality, prioritization, and scheduling; enforce gates before design/approval release; workflow execution.
System Processing Oversight: Monitor AMS queues and task aging; remove blockers; maintain audit trails with Quality/IT.
SLA & RFT Performance: Maintain SLA catalog; track adherence via tiered reviews; standardize checklists and implement recovery actions.
Risk & Issue Management: Maintain risk/issue logs; lead escalations; trigger change control and communicate cross functional impacts.
Matrix Management & Partners: Coordinate workload and coaching for Artwork Specialists; act as point of contact for pack sites/LSCs/3PLs; manage partner scorecards.
Quality & Compliance: Ensure GxP/GMP controls in AMS (versioning, approvals, e signatures); coordinate deviations/CAPAs; align records with Veeva QMS.
Change & Data Integration: Execute change controls; ensure master data readiness and ERP/PLM synchronization for error free handover.
Digital Visualization & CI: Operate KPI dashboards (cycle time, RFT, deviations, SLA); publish readiness views; lead CI/Lean initiatives and support ePIL rollout with cross functional partners.
Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Packaging, Graphic/Pre‑press, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience.
5+ years in artwork, packaging, labelling operations, or closely related supply/quality operations roles in regulated industries.
Proven experience with Artwork Management Systems and GxP labelling controls, including version control, e‑signatures, and audit trails.
Strong operational excellence capabilities: queue management, root‑cause analysis, CAPA leadership, CI/Lean methodologies.
Experience coordinating external partners (CMOs/LSCs/print vendors) and matrix‑leading technical specialists.
Working knowledge of barcode and serialization standards (e.g., GTIN), print/readability constraints, and pre‑press fundamentals.
Proficiency with connected systems (Veeva QMS, ERP/PLM, project management tools) and KPI dashboard operation.
Preferred Qualifications
Pharmaceutical/biotech labelling or packaging operations experience.
Familiarity with ePIL/digital labelling operations and market enablement practices.
Exposure to data analytics/visualization tools; ability to configure or refine operational dashboards.
