Major Duties:

  • Serves as the aquatics manager responsible for managing and supervising the aquatic programs for an AFRC activity.
  • Assist the program manager with a wide variety of management and administrative tasks associated with operating a fully functional activity that is safe and enjoyable for all participants.
  • Participates in and or leads the planning process that results in providing a wide range of fairly typical, conventional and well-established basic aquatic activities.
  • Conducts all the necessary coordination of various details for reoccurring and nonrecurring aquatic, fitness, instructional, and joint community programs.
  • Interviews and selects staff and provides orientation, training and supervision. Provides leadership, direction, management and analysis of all aspects of the program as required.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, administering and executing aquatic programs. This experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor recreational or competitive aquatic programs and facilities. Possession of the following certificates is a requirement: - Current lifeguard certification - Current First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent - Current Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator certification - Current Certification in Water Safety Instructor - O2 Administration (when required by the facility).
