Key Responsibilities

 

Team Leadership & Development (25%)

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of analysts, senior analysts, and managers.
  • Set priorities, manage workloads, and support career progression.
  • Attract, retain, and develop top talent; recognize performance and coach employees.

Partner & Stakeholder Collaboration (25%)

  • Work closely with Strategic Partnerships, Business Development, and Marketing to understand priorities and deliver actionable insights.
  • Serve as a partner‑facing contact, communicating results in plain language to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Influence decision‑making by highlighting trends, opportunities, and risks for AIR MILES partners.

Analytics Delivery (20%)

  • Translate business questions into clear analytical projects and technical specifications.
  • Guide the team in writing efficient SQL from scratch and using Python for advanced (non‑ML) analysis.
  • Design, develop, and maintain standardized reporting dashboards (Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, Looker, or similar) that reduce manual effort and improve consistency.

Solution Architecture & Automation (15%)

  • Identify, configure, and implement analytics solutions that are repeatable and scalable.
  • Optimize, refine, and automate analyses into decision‑support tools and self‑service analytics for non‑analytical end users.
  • Research and apply continuous improvements in data visualization, turning raw data into intuitive, actionable business insights.

Strategic Alignment & Culture (10%)

  • Connect work to BMO’s purpose, values, and strategy & model inclusive behaviours.
  • Foster inter‑dependent teams that collaborate across functional groups to maximise stakeholder value.
  • Ensure SLA adherence for key partner contracts and drive measurable business impact.

Data Quality & Governance (5%)

  • Partner with Data Product and Engineering to improve data quality, structure, and consistency.
  • Document data flows, systems, and processes to support continuous improvement.

 

 

Required Skills & Experience

 

Storytelling & Communication – Ability to craft compelling narratives from data and convey insights to diverse audiences.

Technical Expertise – Strong SQL (writing queries from scratch), solid Python for analytics, and hands‑on experience with BI/visualisation tools (Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, Looker, etc.).

Analytical Methodologies – Advanced knowledge of data mining, visualization, and insight‑design techniques.

Leadership – Minimum 1 year of people‑management experience, including coaching, performance management, and talent development.

Partner‑Facing Orientation – Comfortable engaging with external partners and internal stakeholders at all levels.

Education – STEM degree or equivalent experience

Experience Level – Typically 4-5 years of relevant analytics experience, with a track record of delivering high‑impact insights and scalable reporting solutions.

Salary:

$69,000.00 - $129,000.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents AIR MILES’ pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents AIR MILES’ expected target for the first year in this position.

AIR MILES’ total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
