Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the Casualty Assistance Calls (CACO) case management analyst supporting the Casualty Assistance Calls and the Funeral Honors Support (CACP/FHS) programs.
  • You will manage and analyze casualty cases for the Casualty Assistance Calls Program, assessing progress, and ensuring eligible beneficiaries receive all entitled survivor benefits.
  • You will establish functions and best practices for cost reductions to ensure fiscal compliance.
  • You will liaise with next of kin and beneficiaries to explain survivor benefits, obtain necessary authorizations, and forward documents for processing.
  • You will ensure appropriate Funeral Honors details for deceased active duty, retired and veteran military members are provided under the CNRSW area of responsiblity.
  • You will arrange and schedule appropriate full or partial military funeral honors including religious services for all eligible retirees, veterans and active duty service members.
  • You will maintain databases for deceased cases, very seriously ill or injured service members, family and survivor benefits payouts.
  • You will conduct data entry into the Defense Casualty Information Processing System (DCIPS) and monitoring survivor benefits for timely database input.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying comprehensive subject matter expertise in Casualty and Funeral Honors programs, survivor benefits, DCIPS reporting, and the Navy Goldstar Program; Instructing large groups of officer and enlisted personnel while providing technical guidance to Commanding Officers to ensure accurate next-of-kin notifications; Evaluating complex case files and developing program efficiency improvements to be presented to senior leadership; Managing seamless warm handoffs for bereaved families to ensure they receive compassionate and professional support throughout the process; and Executing Government Purchase Card GPC funding obligations and participating in mass casualty contingency operations with flexible on-call availability.
