Major Duties:

  • You will provide direction and implementation guidance for technical program management decisions to integrate maintenance planning functions in all phases for the surface ship acquisition life cycle.
  • You will perform studies that improve the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, products, organizations, manpower use, distribution of work assignments, delegations of authority, management controls, information and documentation systems, etc.
  • You will plan and conduct comprehensive studies and reviews of subjects that often are several organizational levels in depth.
  • You will develop criteria in support of analysis related to the full cycle of planning and execution for Baseline Availability Work Packages (BAWPs).
  • You will recommend ways to improve the effectiveness and economy of managing organizations and employees to accomplish mission objectives within cognizant Navy command, field activity and contractor manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing ship or ship system programs (e.g., Navy maintenance concepts, maintenance task scheduling) to develop maintenance or modernization project plans for process improvement.
