Job Description:

We are seeking a candidate with experience in building solutions for managed services, with a key focus on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions for our end customers. This is a significant growth area for HPE, with delivery of IT Operations Centers (ITOCs) across the globe and a localised presence in Australia and New Zealand.

You will be part of a small, tight-knit team that enjoys working collaboratively with each other and with the many customers seeking HPE services.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainable. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.

Managed Services – Solution Architect

As a Managed Services Solution Architect, you will deliver value to customers by architecting effective “as-a-Service” solutions that address their business requirements. Leveraging your exceptional relationship-building skills, you will establish strong rapport with clients, understand their environment, and serve as a trusted adviser to their business. Ideally, you will be based on Australia’s east coast, with a preference for our Sydney office.

As an experienced Solution Architect, you will bring knowledge of architectural frameworks, methodologies, and tools to construct market-competitive and winning solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

•            Developing well-architected managed service solution designs for our customers, covering IaaS & PaaS “as-a-Service” models, incorporating infrastructure, cloud, and security.

•            Communicating the value of Managed Services in terms of financial return and impact on customer business goals.

•            Establishing and maintaining professional relationships at multiple levels, collaborating with internal teams and external/industry experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solution development.

•            Partnering with account teams and various HPE stakeholders to ensure effective development, delivery, deployment, operation, and support of solutions.

•            Presenting and demonstrating the value of HPE’s products and services to both new and existing customers.

•            Performing requirement scoping, solution design, SOW creation, and price estimation for Managed Services solutions.

•            Serving as the subject matter expert for Managed Services solutions locally and across Australia and New Zealand.

•            Leading the preparation of high-quality, compelling responses to RFQ/RFP/RFI requests.

•            Negotiating with sales representatives during the sales cycle.

•            Leading teams and collaborating closely with business leaders, sales, consultants, and architects, both internal and external to HPE.

About You:

•            5+ years’ experience in a similar role, with a background in operations, managed services, sales, delivery, or architecture.

•            Experience within the financial services and/or leasing industry, with a focus on customer and contract negotiations.

•            Proven ability to independently develop Statements of Work, pricing, and manage deal governance and approval processes.

•            Strong knowledge of the end-to-end sales process, with a track record of closing multi-million-dollar deals.

•            Strong focus on hardware infrastructure solutions, spanning Core, Edge, and Cloud IT Knowledge of industry technologies, such as backup and storage solutions, compute to hyper-converged, Virtual Desktop, Virtualization, public/private cloud.

•            Proven experience applying architectural methodologies and ITIL frameworks.

•            Business, commercial, and financial acumen to build tailored solution and pricing models.

•            Professional communication skills, capable of engaging with senior customer stakeholders, including C-level executives and decision-makers.

•            Strong interpersonal, leadership, writing, and presentation skills.

•            Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
