Job Summary

As a key member of the Fleet Project Management Office (PMO), the Major Projects Analyst supports Vistra’s nuclear growth strategy by providing PMO, project controls, and analytical support for multi‑billion‑dollar initiatives such as Extended Power Uprates and other major projects. The role delivers timely, data‑driven insights across all phases of execution to support alignment with safety, cost, schedule, quality, and regulatory objectives. Working closely with site and project teams, OEMs, and EPC partners, the analyst enables governance and performance monitoring by translating complex technical and financial data into actionable insights for PMO leadership. The role also contributes to PMO maturity by supporting enterprise standards, tools, training, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen consistent execution across the nuclear fleet.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Project Management Office (PMO) to include but not limited to the Extended Power Uprate projects and other projects from design through implementation, ensuring project goals such as safety, budget, schedule, risk, and quality requirements are achieved.
  • Support implementation, maintenance, and auditing of standardized PMO governance, gated decision processes, escalation protocols, and project controls across all sites. Prepare supporting documentation, reporting, dashboards and metrics for leadership decision making.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining unit level baselines for scope, schedule, and budget. Track performance against baselines and identify variances or outliers in alignment with PMO methodologies. Identify and escalate conflicts to team.
  • Facilitate coordination across project teams, functional organizations, EPCs, and vendors. Prepare routine status reports, dashboards, and performance metrics emphasizing trends, constraints, and forward-looking risks.
  • Contribute to PMO maturity by refining templates, tools, and processes based on lessons learned and performance data. Support audits, best practice institutionalization, and day to day execution.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams—including but not limited to engineering, licensing, operations construction, finance, EPC partners, and OEMs
  • Develop process to provide regular status updates and milestone reporting for the Extended Power Uprate and other projects to leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Compile, validate, and analyze project data from multiple sources to generate timely and accurate reports.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting projects, project controls, or construction management. Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Experience with project management and project controls concepts, including working with project documentation, schedules, cost data, or performance reports.
  • Experience with project scheduling (Primavera P6), project management software and data visualization tools (Power BI).
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to identify trends and variances with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Exposure to structured or regulated environments (energy, utilities, industrial, or similar) preferred, including basic knowledge of nuclear plant systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including but not limited to the ability to make formal presentations to management
  • High attention to detail, strong organization skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities under guidance.
  • Ability to travel (including overnight travel) as required to support project execution.
