About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of a portfolio of retail and residential properties across Toronto. This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring the properties are maintained to the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency. This position involves frequent inter-property travel and requires the ability to walk significant distances daily.

  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of all common areas, including entrances, walkways, and facilities (e.g., shoveling, window cleaning, vacuuming, graffiti removal, floor cleaning, waste disposal).

  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment; report required maintenance or repairs to the Operations Supervisor.

  • Perform basic maintenance and repair tasks in residential units, such as sink and shower fixes, breaker resets, light replacements, and lock changes.

  • Perform preventive maintenance, including HVAC filter changes.

  • Ensure contracted property services meet performance standards and contribute to a safe and clean environment.

  • Use the Building Management Software System (Angus Anywhere) to respond promptly to tenant work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Conduct weekly inspections of vacant units and report any unusual conditions.

  • Assist with contractor access to properties and coordinate site tours as needed.

  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; provide recommendations to the Operations Supervisor.

  • Oversee third-party contractors to ensure work is completed in accordance with contracts or purchase orders.

  • Complete regular utility meter readings.

What you’ll bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred.

  • Experience in general building maintenance, basic repairs, and systems operations.

  • Hands-on experience with residential repair work.

  • Experience working with or supervising contractors is an asset.

  • Familiarity with Angus Anywhere or similar Building Management Systems is considered an asset.

  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety procedures (e.g., WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, fall protection, mold remediation) is an advantage.

  • Flexible availability, including participation in on-call coverage.

  • Physical ability to walk 6–10 miles daily between properties and lift up to 40 lbs.

  • Strong service orientation and a commitment to maintaining high property standards.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.

  • Commitment to fostering a respectful, supportive workplace culture

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $39, 576 - $55,000

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
