Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Grand Rapids, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role:

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure production equipment reliability, readiness, and uptime. This role leads kitting projects, drives proactive maintenance programs, manages work orders in Maximo, and supports new launch activities by aligning resources, parts, documentation, and readiness plans. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative across Maintenance, Production, and Engineering.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and execute maintenance kitting strategies for planned work (PMs, corrective work, overhauls, changeovers).
  • Build and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and task lists aligned to OEM recommendations and failure data.
  • Coordinate predictive maintenance activities (e.g., vibration, thermography, oil analysis) with UAW Skilled Trades.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime and increase Mean Time Between Failure.
  • Create detailed job plans with scope, sequence, estimated duration, skill requirements, safety steps, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Vendors to align maintenance priorities with operational goals.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​:

  • 3+ years of experience within high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, job planning, kitting, and maintenance execution in a production environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation (schematics, blueprints, machine manuals)

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): 

  • Experience in maintenance group leading in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in Maximo
  • Working relationship / understanding with UAW skilled trades.
  • Familiarity with GM Global Manufacturing System (GMS)
