Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager supervises the general maintenance activities related to the Medical Center facilities, with specific emphasis on plumbing, domestic water and waste, steam piping, medical gas systems, refrigeration equipment, housekeeping and dietary equipment, beds, stretchers, window a/c's, the maintenance "rounds' program, and similar equipment and systems.

Job Description:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Maintenance Manager to support our Dearborn Hospital in Lawrenceburg, IN

  • Assure that work is completed by planning the work, assigning staff, setting priorities and utilizing available human and material resources effectively.
  • Assure that documentation and reports are completed, and that procedures are followed by the assigned staff so that required information is available for management use and regulatory agencies. Coordinate and supervise the work of outside contractors to assure that work is performed according to drawings and specifications and established standards
  • Assure that work by assigned staff is performed to departmental standards by providing proper direction, training and control
  • Motivate assigned staff through personal interaction, counseling, encouragement and recommendations for educational development.
  • Evaluate the condition of facility related equipment and systems including; nurse call, intercoms, and video equipment, plumbing domestic water and waste, fire protection sprinkler system; medical gas distribution systems, vacuum pumps, air compressors; refrigeration and ice machines; sterilizers; lighting systems, light fixtures, and clocks; dietary and housekeeping equipment; wheelchairs, stretchers and beds; window a/c's, thermostats, air boxes; parking gates, welding and fabrication; and other related general maintenance equipment.
  • For repairs identified or projects assigned, determine whether the work should be performed by in-house staff or by outside contractors, so as to make best use of resources
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of outside contractors to assure that work is performed according to drawings and specifications and established standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

Associate Degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent, post-high school formal education.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that will meet SEH insurance requirements.

Specialized Knowledge:

Must have knowledge of pumps, air compressors, refrigeration equipment, electrical controls, welding, fabrication, nurse call and similar communications systems and other facility related equipment and systems.

Kind and Length of Experience:

5 years of experience supervising building maintenance activities
