Maintenance Electrician

OCONUS-Australia-Alice Springs Full time

Purpose and Scope The Maintenance Electrician is a vital member of a skilled team responsible for maintaining infrastructure and critical systems. This role involves technical repairs and maintenance of facility infrastructure equipment, encompassing planning, scheduling, organizing, and ensuring the timely completion of maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Electrician is expected to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and collaborate closely with the Facilities Operations Team and other departments to maintain high standards and reliably operate facility systems. This position is crucial to the successful operation of the broader Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team.

Qualifications

· Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act and EHS policies.

· Experience in facility maintenance or similar technical environments.

· Knowledge of technical terminology related to electrical infrastructure and electronic equipment.

· Familiarity with facilities equipment and maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, corrective).

· Understanding of 110V (US) power systems or a willingness to learn.

· Problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.

· Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Archibus) and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Understanding of industrial electrical systems, power distribution, industrial control circuits, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

Tickets and Licenses

· Australian candidates must hold and maintain an Australian "A" Grade Electrical License.

· US candidates must hold and maintain a US State Journeyman’s License.

· Other desirable certifications include Working at Heights, First Aid/CPR, Forklift License, Elevated Work Platform, and Confined Space certifications.

Experience and Skills

· A minimum of 4 years post-trade experience.

· Experience with a diverse range of power distribution equipment is highly regarded.

Work Environment and Demands Employees must be medically fit to work and complete all physical tasks associated with the role, including handling moderate to heavy loads and navigating maintenance environments that may be uneven or cramped.

Security Clearance Requirement Employment requires obtaining and retaining the appropriate level of security clearance and medical clearance. Initially, an NV1 clearance is

needed with the intent to apply for a Top-Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) or TS/SCI (U.S.) clearance.
