Provide the specified services as described in the Zone Cleaning Responsibilities Outline for your assigned location. Maintain inventory for consumable supplies: hand soap, paper hand towels, toilet paper, trash bags, etc. Maintain inventory for cleaning supplies: surface, glass/mirror, carpet/tile, upholstery cleaners; dusting/polishers; floor waxes and strippers, etc. Maintain a cleaning cart – including brooms, dust mops, wet mops and buckets, scrapers, dusters, cleaning cloths, sweeper, etc. Additional equipment includes buffers, automatic floor machine, carpet extractor, etc. Complete work orders for items that need repairing or maintenance work. Close the Region's Buildings and set the security systems as required. In the winter, shovel sidewalks and entrances, spread deicer to keep areas free of snow and ice, as necessary. Other duties will include helping with event set ups, moving and/or relocating furniture, emptying trash cans in parking and sidewalk areas and assisting facilities with other projects as needed. The above listed duties and responsibilities will include lifting and physical exertion. Guidelines for single person lifting: NO REPETITIVE LIFTING OF OBJECTS OVER 50 POUNDS. A one-time lift or movement of objects may be necessary, but only using accepted lifting procedures and using extreme caution. If repetitive lifting exceeds the guidelines, seek additional assistance.

Compensation
$17.75 per hour with full benefits
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Must be able to: read; work independently; operate custodial equipment and light maintenance tools; and maintain working relationships with faculty, staff, and students. The incoming employee must hold a valid Indiana driver's license and complete the Driver Approval Form to obtain authorization from the Systems Office for operating any College-owned, leased, or rented vehicles as part of their job responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of related work experience in custodial work or associate's degree in related field preferred.
