Job Title: Mainframe - Engineer for Authorization solution, AVP
Location: Bangalore, India
Role Description
Engineer is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments. Work includes:
- Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals
- Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions
- Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow
- Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability
- Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.

Your key responsibilities
This Mainframe Engineer role has following responsibilities:
- You will design, develop and maintain critical mainframe application in the authorization pillar.
- You will ensure that engineering solutions are aligned with business goals, ensure that solutions are well designed, with maintainability and ease of testing the same.
- You will deal with Product Owners to capture feature projects/enhancements.
- You will provide engineering thought leadership within their teams and will play a senior engineer/developer role and sometimes mentoring and coaching of less experienced engineers, if needed.
- You will work with the team on development projects, create/review technical documents and plan/execute production implementation.
- To ensure a stable and maintainable production environment, you will be doing active development and support the L3 team whenever required.
- In case of incidents and business requests, you will be actively involved in the incident and request analysis and drive the problem resolution.
Your skills and experience
- Should have 7-10 years of hands-on experience with mainframe development skill set.
- Have design and development experience on COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, MQ & WSDL.
- Experience in banking domain, specifically access management area will be an added plus.
- Good to know about the tools SCLM, SOAP UI, CICS Explorer, OPC, Beta View, SFTP / NDM.
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM environment.
- Familiar with tools around SDLC and Agile (JIRA, Confluence)
- Good communication skills
- Pro-active team player
- Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary, self-organized teams
- Professional knowledge of English
