The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview

Performs a variety of clerical and general office duties to ensure the smooth flow of mail and other materials within the facility. Meters all outgoing mail as required by USPS rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Inspects all inbound mail for correct destination address and location.
Sorts accurately large volume of in-bound mail for and from various locations on and off campus for distribution throughout the campus. Distributes timely both USPS and interdepartmental mail at various times throughout the day to multiple departments located on the campus.
Performs pick up of interdepartmental and USPS outbound mail for multiple locations throughout system on a timely basis.
Operates the mail meter and scale in accordance with the operator's manual and requirement from USPS for outbound domestic and overseas mail including bulk and certified mail. Affixes the correct postage to all outbound mail.
Maintains a daily operational dollar balance on the meter at all times. Notifies the supervisor when meter needs replenishment of funds. Performs the required documentation and formulates the correct dollar amount for submitting certified mail. Maintains records of items being sent and forwards notification cards to the appropriate senders.
