Job Summary

Responsible for collaborating effectively with peers to contribute to the team's machine learning algorithm development and the software development process. Participates in the evaluation of accuracy and functionality of machine learning algorithms as a part of a larger team. Contributes to translating application requirements into machine learning problem statements. Analyzes and evaluates solutions both internally generated as well as third party supplied. Collaborates with peers to develop ways to use machine learning to solve problems and discover new products, working on a portion of the problem and collaborating with more senior researchers and engineers as needed. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Job Description

Responsibilities:  

  • Building a strong intuitive understanding of the problem domain (Next Generation Access Networks). Identify testable hypotheses to explain interesting phenomena in this domain. 
  • Integrating data from multiple sources including third party sources. 
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods 
  • Developing actionable quantitative models in the areas of effectiveness, ROI, pricing and optimization. 
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner 
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance 
  • Creating automated evaluation environment of complex models and constant tracking of relevant performance

  • Spark (AWS EMR, Databricks), AWS Lambda 
  • Spark Streaming and Batch  
  • MySQL, Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB, RDBMS 
  • Java, Scala, Go, Python, R 
  • Git, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins  
  • Visualization suite (Tableau, Grafana) 

  

Required Skills:

  • College degree  in the following areas: Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science or relevant science or engineering discipline. 
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, especially in the deep learning area -- both theoretical underpinnings and craft (Systems such as Tensorflow, Theano, Caffe, scikit.learn and their APIs).  
  • Applied statistics skills and understanding of probability distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc. 
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as scikit-learn, R, etc.  Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable. 
  • Great communication skills. 
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot, Matplotlib, etc. 
  • Comfortable in using query languages such as SQL and Hive.
