Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Logistics Planner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Product Support Organization. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
The selected candidate will be assigned to work in the Product Support organization performing Provisioning technical data development and ongoing support of maintaining physical logistics configuration data related to design change notice and sustainment activities across multiple programs under the Global Surveillance portfolio at the Melbourne Site.
The selected candidate must be able to understand and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists and be able to independently support and collaborate with other logistics disciplines to resolve physical logistics configuration issues related to part, maintenance, and spares applications. This role requires familiarity with Logistics Support Analysis Report (LSAR) databases and industry standard software tools (MS Access, Excel, and SharePoint). This role will primarily develop and maintain the Provisioning documentation to support Air Vehicle systems (structural, mechanical, avionics, payload, ground systems, etc.). The Provisioning documentation shall reflect an indentured breakdown based on released engineering drawings and parts lists in support of different maintenance concepts. Will also be responsible for recommending and updating Source, Maintainability and Recoverability (SMR) codes for all items in the Provisioning breakdown and ensuring the Provisioning data is properly aligned with the related Technical Publications and Logistics Support Analysis data.

Essential Functions:
Gather, collect, record, track, and verify logistics data from multiple sources and maintain provisioning records.
Understand and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists.
Develop accurate top-down configuration breakdowns.
Research and document part data elements such as shelf-life codes and precious metal indicator codes, etc.
Assist Engineering groups with the selection, identification, and validation of logistics replacement part numbers.
Facilitate Provisioning activities including scheduling, host, and conducting meetings, briefings, such as Provisioning Conferences and maintenance discussion topics, preparation of agendas and meeting minutes. Participate in working groups and ad hoc committees/meetings.
Engage with senior management, integrated product teams, suppliers, and government customers to ensure coordination and proper integration of Provisioning resolution activities.
Work with suppliers to ensure Provisioning documentation, such as data and Supplier Data Requirements Lists accurately reflect Statement of Work (SOW) requirements and latest engineering at the lowest cost while maintaining high quality and reliability.
Assist in developing program metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of provisioning activities.
Specific duties will include lifting 50 or more pounds, desk work, inventory shipping/movement.
Job may include but not limited to; Data Entry, Goods movement, palletizing/shipping of materials, delivery/warehouse responsibilities.
Key aspects of the position include working effectively across functional disciplines such as with teams of engineers, logisticians, buyers, and suppliers in pursuing logistics recommendations and providing necessary Provisioning technical support for resolving spares issues. The successful candidate must have experience performing data analysis using Excel or comparable tools. These tools will be used to perform physical logistics configuration analysis and development to integrate engineering design change notices. Solid written and oral communications as well as presentation skills should be present as well, and candidate must be able to communicate their work, especially its significance and relevancy, in a clear, detailed manner.
