Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1414P03 and is part of the IL 126, National Guard.

Major Duties:

  • As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), GS-0346-12, you will manage, direct, develop and implement policy programs and procedures for the accurate management of Wing Logistics planning. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Manage, direct, and implement the local formulation and publication of installation deployment guidance based on regulations, manuals, instructions, and directives issued by higher headquarters. Serve as the Installation Deployment Officer (IDO), and act for the Commander, regarding actions required to deploy in support of Aerospace Expeditionary Forces (AEF), contingency operations, Operations Other Than War (OOTW), and exercises. Review USAF, NGB, and MAJCOM deployment procedures to analyze the impact and, if necessary, provide modifications to procedures for the wing and subordinate units. Establish deployment policy and set procedures for the integrated efforts of aircraft maintenance, supply, transportation, civil engineering, operations, and supported units for mission essential deployment operations and logistics war planning. Ensure that units meet pre-execution and command and control requirements for deployments. Plan and control the Ensure reimbursements are identified to the Financial Management Board (FMB). movement of personnel and equipment during simulated and actual deployments and exercises. Plan, develop, direct, and conduct deployment training for the wing and units. Develop and schedule training courses and approve lesson plans developed by functional areas. Manage the wing support agreement program for the Commander.

Qualifications: AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence, The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees. The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible. The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership. The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens. Military Grades: Officer only - Not to exceed O4 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education, or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field; Experience using computer and automation systems. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 Level. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Level MUST possess at least 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level of GS-11; 1 year of experience, education, or training which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations; integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan; monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan; identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: MUST possess supervisory experience which includes experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
